Our office proudly uses the latest in digital x-ray technology. Today’s Digital x-rays offer a detailed image of your entire mouth and also decreases radiation by up to 80% over traditional film x-rays.
X-rays play a crucial role in the diagnosis of dental problems, as well as provide a crystal-clear picture for the dentist to accurately diagnose and provide the necessary treatment.
The procedure is done by placing a small sensor in your mouth, then sending an x-ray beam through your teeth and into the sensor. This records the image of your tooth or teeth and sends it to our computer. The sensor is then repositioned to image other sections of your teeth, if applicable.
The large and color-enhanced images assist the patient and the dentist, allowing them to see and understand if any work is needed. The digital x-ray decreases checkup time, and it’s fun to watch this system work. Most patients are amazed and intrigued when viewing the images of their teeth.
